Are my products to British Standards
Of Course they are. All Our bean products and fillings conform to British Safety Standards (BS5852) for cigarette and match resistance.
All our products are made using fire retardant (FRd) materials, including the inners and the Polystyrene bead fillings. The Polystyrene beads we use measure approximately 2 - 5 mm in diameter have been tested at FIRA International Ltd and have successfully satisfied the requirements of Schedule 2 Part 1 of The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, amended 1989 and 1993.
WARNING: Keep products away from naked flames and other sources of ignition. In the event of a fire use water, dry media or a foam extinguisher.
For Tougher Contract use we can supply crib 5 which conforms to the following but they are more expensive with limited colours and fabrics available.
- BS EN 1021-1 1994 smouldering cigarette
- BS EN 1021-2 1994 Match Flame Equivalent
- BS 5852 1990 section 4 source 5 woodcrib.
All our products must be used in a sensible way and our guarantee will not cover abuse of items, they are after all a piece of furniture.
