Revellers at one Indian bar have the chance to chill out on comfy bean bag chairs and luxurious cushions.
An Indian Express article notes that the recently-opened Vertigo bar in Hotel Himani offers “a retro club feel” and contains a number of cushions and low-level seating to help give the impression that it is somewhere cosy for people to relax.
“We didn’t want to cramp up space and intentionally gave it an open feel,” owner Ankit Gupta explains.
Corona and Heineken are among the beverage brands that can be purchased at the bar which is targeted specifically at young people and those on a budget.
“There are many fine dining restaurants and clubs in the city but most are not youth centric and budget-friendly. The music will range from pop to jazz to trance and R&B over the weekends,” he tells the publication.
But this is not the only place offering young people a place to chill out bean bag chairs. Reuters recently noted that at this year’s The Big Chill and Latitude festival, Boutique Babysitting will run a childcare service allowing kids the chance to chill on children’s bean bag chairs, while their parents enjoy some live music.
