One newspaper reader has acknowledged the role bean bags play in a library in Ontario.
In a letter to the Caledon Enterprise, G Millar notes "the warm feeling of amazement at the beauty of the Albion-Bolton Library".
And it seems that bean bags have a part to play in this. The reader points out that young children are often seen sitting on such comfortable seating in order to read.
With the library's staff praised for being friendly, it was revealed that as well as being able to sit on a bean bag to read, people – both young and old – can also borrow audio books and DVDs, as well as participate in learning programmes.
The writer goes on to note claims by their four-year-old daughter Ella, who states that she likes "joining the reading club and going to story time".
Last month, the South Wales Echo reported that Cardiff's Cathays library now contains bean bags and radio cataloguing equipment after a £1 million refurbishment was completed.
