Renovated children’s centre feature bean bags

Bean bags have become a key feature of a renovation of a children's centre in Rockingham County, Virginia.

Girl Scout Mary Kern decided to renovate a building and provide a kids club for children in the area after seeing a group of youngsters playing football in the dirt with sticks as goals, WHSV reports.

The kind-hearted pupil decided to raise the necessary money to renovate the centre which hosts the La Casita after-school programme, providing a safe place for local children to play.

Bean bag chairs were bought in order to make the club a more comfortable place for kids to relax or perhaps read a book or magazine, while games and a swing set were purchased for those who prefer to play outdoors.

However, Mary is not the only Girl Scout to make use of bean bags to make an open area more comfortable – 19-year-old Mary Stewart Bell installed the furniture at a Salvation Army homeless shelter she recently helped to set up in Fayetteville.
