Beanbags and Big Screens

Thanks to the BBC, many of the major cities throughout the UK will be showing coverage of The Games on big screen TVs starting tonight with the Opening Ceremony. City centres will be decked out with outdoor beanbags, and other comfortable seating so you will be able to enjoy all the excitement of tonight’s Opening Ceremony and the next fortnight’s event whilst enjoying a bean bag picnic with your friends and family.

The BBC has 22 sites in towns and cities throughout the UK where this summers events will be screened. Set up to promote local and national events, and animate city centres, so far this year people have been able to enjoy Wimbledon, Euro 2012 and performances from the Royal Ballet all from the comfort of an outdoor beanbag, and all for free.

This year, the use of outdoor beanbags at live events has dramatically increased, with organisers realising the benefits of the beanbag over other forms of seating, beanbags win hands down for comfort, versatility, affordability and let’s face it, they look a lot cooler than a plastic chair!

Only 10 days left now before the opening ceremony in London, and if you don’t know what ceremony I’m talking about, well where have you been all year?

rucomfy beanbags is 100% supporting team GB this summer and have been busy working hard  behind the scenes at the athlete’s village to make sure that team GB and the rest of the athletes from around the world have the right beanbags to relax on.

So after a hard day on the track, in the pool, or in a boat, the likes of Chris Hoy, Jessica Ennis, Rebecca Adlington and Ben Ainslie will all be able to chill out on a specially designed, lime green rucomfy beanbag, in preparation for their next round.

It’s taken us 18000m of material, 65000cuft of beans and a double capacity workforce to make sure the 8000 beanbags were ready in time, but we’re proud to say we did it well ahead of schedule.

Puppy Heaven

Angus puts his smarty beanbag pet bed to the test

Over the past few weeks I’ve written quite a few blogs about children’s beanbags, from outdoor beanbags and gaming beanbags to monster beanbags and animal beanbags. That’s because our children are the most important part of our lives, but when we received a photograph from one of our customers I realised I’d missed another important member of our family; our pet.

Meet Angus, a border terrier pup who has fallen in love with a rucomfy beanbag smarty cushion beanbag and claimed it for his pet bed.

Love Your Garden. Love Your Outdoor Beanbag

It was great to see outdoor beanbags featured on ITV’s gardening show Love Your Garden with Alan Titchmarsh on Wednesday evening.

This week the show was in the Brecon Beacons where Alan Titchmarsh and his team created a garden suitable for a large family including two children with special needs.
