Chat, relax, be creative on a beanbag – the rise of the Chill Out Zone

Ever wondered how to increase the creativity and productivity of your employees? Why not take a leaf out of the book of some of the most successful companies in the world by creating a more relaxed working environment for your employees or even a Chill Out Zone.

Companies such as Google, Innocent Drinks, Mozilla and even financial big guns Goodman Masson have introduced more relaxed working environments for their employees as they believe that it fosters creativity and collaboration.

Google infamously fill their worldwide offices with bean bags, with their offices in Ireland featuring workstation bays complete with bean bags and communal chill out areas, with extra large beanbags for employees to relax on. In fact last September, we here at  rucomfy beanbags supplied the Google offices in London with our indoor/outdoor XXL mansize Slouchbag beanbags.

The Mozilla offices in San Francisco feature beanbag sofas and bean bag cubes.

Goodman Masson have created a Chill Out Zone, filled with bean bags, televisions and games to allow their workers to relax at any time of the day and have even introduced “Beer Friday” where all their workers meet for a beer and chat on a beanbag in the chill out zone.

The idea behind these Chill Out Zones are to increase working relationships, give employees a chance to increase their knowledge of the products they sell, and bounce ideas off each other without the need to sit in formal, stuffy meeting rooms. By creating informal areas within your business, you can help reduce the everyday pressures and stresses brought on by deadlines and the need to meet targets.

Once seen as an accessory for the home, the beanbag has grown up and gone into business. rucomfy beanbags offer a complete range of beanbags to furnish your offices and to create the perfect beanbag Chill Out Zone for your employees.

All things British

Since the Royal Wedding last April the Union Jack has become the design statement of the moment, and with the Queen’s jubilee and Olympics later this year, its popularity is set to continue.

The Union Jack has a chequered history, starting life in 1606 symbolising the new union between England and Scotland.

It first became a fashion icon in the 1960’s when it featured on clothing of the fashionistas of the time and became a popular symbol used by Britishs bands such as The Who.

In the 1970’s, it became a symbol for thugs and anarchists, with it being shredded and pinned as an angry insignia of British Youth.

During the 1990’s it returned to favour with the likes of the Spice Girls wearing Union Jack clothing and Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit posing under a Union Jack duvet for the cover of Vanity Fair.

Today the Union Jack has come to represent nostalgia and coolness with Geri Halliwell even launching her new clothing range in collaboration with Next back in February, by heavily featurings the Union Jack in her designs, recreating as part of the collection the famous Union Jack dress she wore to the BRIT awards in 1997.

No one can deny that the Union Jack is one of the more interesting flags in the world, with many just featuring horizontal or vertical stripes, the 13 section Union Jack design can be cut and taylored for use in clothing or soft furnishings but still remain instantly recognisable.

To celebrate all things British and the exciting year ahead for Great Britain with the Jubilee and Olympic games, rucomfy beanbags have designed our own range of Union Jack beanbags, Union Jack cushions and Union Jack cube bean bags.

We are also excited to have supplied the Union Jack bean bag cube bean bags for the judge’s rooms for this year’s Britains Got Talent. So you too can have a Union Jack beanbag exactly like those sat on by Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

rucomfy beanbags are keeping Great Britain’s manufacturing alive with  100% of our products being manufactured here in Great Britain, and not only this but 100% of the supplies are also sourced within Great Britain. By keeping our manufacturing in house we are able to have total control over design and quality to bring you the best beanbags available.
